Maybe you’ve seen your sewing machine (sitting in your closet) and thought about saying hello…maybe you’ve even awkwardly tried to get to know it, but became flustered and self-conscious before it actually went anywhere. Meanwhile, in the back of your mind, you have grandiose ideas about all the things you would make and fix and invent, if only you were on speaking terms with that stupid, stupid machine.

If this sounds like you, then you can do one of two things: one, get rid of the damn thing ~ or two, become friends with it. “Reluctant Seamster :: Making Friends With Your Machine” is a 2 hour workshop that will include various trust-building activities, giving you the confidence and skill to tackle your first project.

This 3-hour class is for absolute beginners.

Please bring:

*Your sewing machine – any kind – preferably in good working condition
*A spool of thread – any kind
*A bobbin (the little plastic or metal spooly thingy that fits in the cryhole, beneath the needle (see diagram above))
*A pair of scissors or snippers

We will provide:

*Fabric
*Guidance
*Tissues

Limited to 5 students per session.
